Guidelines for Collaborative Weaving
- We are working together for a very broad and inclusive cause, coming together from any place in the world, with a million different points of view on the details.
- In order to be successful, we must learn and follow some basic principles of collaboration in a context where people do not understand reality in the same way, or mean the same things by the words they use.
- For many reasons, it is normal and healthy that we do not agree on the details. We do see things differently - and this is part of our strength. The fundamental energy of creativity itself is driven by these differences. Diversity-in-resonance creates the chemistry that can ignite an international renaissance. If we all thought the same way on everything, there would be no creative energy in the world.
- Diversity without resonance is chaotic and painful, and is a primary cause of injury and misery in the world. We must overcome this blind tribalistic myopia and reach beyond the confining narrow walls of our small world view. We can do this. Circle-weavers can lead the way to a global renaissance.
If you want to weave a world that works, maybe you should stop doing things that don't work...
- Don't impose your private dictionary on other people. When somebody uses a word, find out what they mean by it, instead of enforcing your meaning on the conversation. This builds trust and understanding - and creativity. Plus, it's a learning experience for you. You grow.
